Chateau Latour 1986
MWH Wines: Given the tannic nature of the vintage it is unsurprising that the Latour 1986 has taken time to come around, but my, it has been worth the wait! Ripe, concentrated mulberry and damson nose with a notes of oriental spices and woodsmoke, the palate remains massive, concentrated and multi-layered even after 3 decades of life. Loaded with fruit and with a (still) solid core of ripe, rounded tannins, this is a Latour for the ages that will drink increasingly well over the next 3-4 decades.
