Spreitzer Trocken, Josef Spreitzer 2011 - Case

MWH Wines:  This family owned 15 hectare estate in the heart of the Rheingau produces classic Riesling wines of great freshness and finesse. The vineyards in Oestrich, Winkel and Hattenheim are planted with 97% Riesling and just 3% Spatburgunder grapes.  Brothers Bernd and Andreas Spreitzer are the fourth generation of the Spreitzer family to run this historic estate where wine has been produced since 1641. Since 1988 the estate has been a member of the Charta association of top Rheingau producers and Weingut Spreitzer is also a member of the prestigious VDP organization of leading quality German wine producers.

Meticulous attention to detail in the vineyard, and judicious use of both oak and stainless steel in the cellars provide the key to the Spreitzers' success.  These wines are highly prized in Germany where they consistently win acclaim and many awards for excellence.  This delightful Rheingau Riesling is a tribute to the Spreitzers' skill and dedication to producing wines of outstanding quality, which truly express both their terroir and the exquisite harmony between fruit and acidity, so typical of the Riesling grape at its best.
