Broadbent (in 1986) Delicious, and its delicate, slightly medicinal Pauillac bouquet developed gloriously over two hours, half in decant and then in glass. Although losing some colour it can still be surprisingly deep, rich, intense even. Bouquet still very forthcoming and fragrant; dryish, perfect weight, crisp, slightly citrus flavour, good length. A beauty. *****
MWH: This wonderful example of Lafite Rothschild 1955 has an impressive level laying as it does at the top shoulder of the bottle. There is a stain on the label.
