MWH Wines: 1963 Vintage Ports are among the most sought-after of all Ports and it's easy to see why. The quality was superb and 25 shippers declared wines which have taken time to reach their best, a wait that was wholly worthwhile. The 1963 Taylor was huge in youth and it has mellowed wonderfully and is now medium-bodied, spicy, full of fruit and retains good colour and a spicy, heady finish. Long and brilliant future ahead.
"I do not drink much Port. But wines like this, make me think I am missing out. Spicy, cherries, strawberry, orange peel and bitter chocolate with a hint of cigar wrapper get the perfume going. Good concentration of raw material, with sweetness, a touch of heat, luscious textures and a long finish, that carries the perfume on the nose all the way through. I imagine this is at peak, and there is no hurry to finish your bottles, as this should only get better from here. 97 Points" -97/100, Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
