MWH Wines: Still retaining some youthful sweetness, weight and juicy fruit, the 1960 Warre is a lovely wine now and will continue to give considerable pleasure for some time to come.
The 1960 Vintage Ports are often overlooked, but this Warre’s is a little beauty. It has a rich fig and menthol-scented bouquet that is elegant and well defined, hints of melted tar emerging with time. The palate is refined on the entry with clove-infused black fruit and crisp acidity, although it starts to run out of puff towards the finish. Still worth picking up if you find a bottle.
