We are proud to announce that MWH Wines has won three more Wine Searcher retailer awards. Our 2022 medal haul includes a Bronze Medal for Best Overall List in Berkshire, a Silver Medal for the Best Overall List in Berkshire, and (yet another!) Gold for Best Portuguese List.
Winning the Gold for Best Portuguese List in Berkshire is quite some feat for small independent wine merchants such as us. While Berkshire may not be the largest place in the world – it’s the eighth smallest in England – it is home to one of the world’s largest wine merchants, Laithwaites. While MWH Wine is known for its fantastic collection of vintage port – Jancis Robinson MW was kind enough to say we are ‘An exceptional source of vintage port’ – beating a massive corporation like Laithwaites to the Gold Medal is something we’re understandably proud of.
WineSeacher Awards: Recognizing the Best
The WineSearcher Awards are recognised as one of the most prestigious in the industry. The criteria are strict, the judging independent, and it’s based on the provision of consistently excellent service. In their own words, to win an award, a store must demonstrate their list has:
